The SA hip-hop genre has been labelled dead as most artists have been failing to surpass the standards of music that have been set by Amapiano.
Taking to Twitter, Sizwe Dhlomo a media personality and a massive contributor to SA hip hop has expressed concerns about the state of SA hip hop. Dhlomo reminisces about the good days of rap in the South Ah stating that hip hop was once great in South Africa.

One of his followers on Twitter responded to his question as he delivered an interesting insight on what might have caused the nosedive of SA hip hop. “Well no offence but I feel like ever since the introduction of new young cats like Nasty,Reece,Shane, etc, the old cats felt the pressure, well obvious because most attention was going to the new kids on the block.. so with that said, instead of jelling with the new kids and.” Read the response.
With the below par of delivery in SA hip hop, Sizwe still believes that there are some rappers who have remained consistent in the game. The seasoned broadcaster mentioned that K.O has remained the most consistent rapper in SA.
Recently, Dhlomo has also hinted at dropping a single when he turns 40. Can’t you drop a hip-hop single for your 40th?” Reads the tweet from one of his followers.
