NET Honours 2022: Sabinus Wins Social Content Creator of the Year

Chukwuemeka ‘Sabinu’ Emmanuel Ejekwu has won the award for the NET Honours Social Content Creator of the Year. The leading skit maker won against creators like Kiekie, Broda Shaggi, Taaooma, Mr Macaroni and Sydney Talker.

He won the category with a 42.1% lead ahead of the other nominees.  Kie Kie gathered 15.5% of the total votes, Taaooma with 14.4%, Mr Macaroni with 9.9%, Broda Shaggi with 9.7% and Sydney Talker with 8.4%.

NET Honours is an annual people’s choice award presented to deserving individuals in the Nigerian entertainment industry with verified data from Netng’s platforms on the web and social.

Oga Sabinus, who became ‘something hooge’, broke into the comedy industry in 2019 and has become one of Nigeria’s leading skit makers in recent times.

In the past year, the comedian has consistently released original comedy content while hosting stand-up comedy shows. He has also featured in comic movies, including Basketmouth’s ‘Papa Benji’.

Recently, he also won the African Movie Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCAs) for the Best Online Social Content Creator. 

Data for the 15 voting categories for NET Honours Class of 2022 were sourced from over 21,000 voters who had voted for the favourites via the voting platform between June 22 – June 29, 2022.
