Election: Portable displays “cash received” while endorsing Tinubu and Oyetola

Fast-rising Nigerian singer Portable has endorsed Gboyega Oyetola’s campaign for reelection as governor of Osun state.

The popular street sensation, born Habeeb Okikiola, shared videos from his visit to Osogbo, the state capital — where he met the governor and his campaign team — via his Instagram page on Wednesday.

In one of the videos, Portable urged the people of Osun to vote for Oyetola during the gubernatorial election billed for July 16 in order to “enjoy good governance”.

During the visit, Portable also declared his support for the presidential bid of Bola Tinubu, the ex-Lagos governor, seeking to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

“Support APC, vote for Tinubu… only Oyetola and Tinubu can do it,” he said.

In a post accompanying the video, he wrote: “re-elect @adegboyegaoyetola 4 + 4 Akoi APC Osun state Governor Dõn show love Akoi grace.”

Portable gained prominence in December 2021 when he put out ‘Zazu Zeh’, his hit track featuring Olamide and Poco Lee.

The singer has since then been in the news on several occasions for controversial reasons.
